RESPOND TO THE ONLINE CONSULTATION

 

The global survey is part of a broader consultation process in preparation for the 2024 Mid-term review of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs. It aims to gather inputs from NGOs working on drug policy issues around the world.

By participating in the survey, you will contribute to a collective civil society voice that will be presented prior to the 67th CND and other relevant fora. Your responses will inform the development of a civil society report that will be jointly published by VNGOC & NYNGOC in 2024.

Ecolink Institute of well-being, an approved training provider of the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program has concluded its IXth batch of the Universal Treatment Curriculum on Substance Use Disorder (Curriculum 1-8) on October 5, 2023. participants from five countries including addiction practitioners, clinical psychologists, catholic priests and social workers took part in this six months online training and became qualified to apply for ICAP credentialing. Mangalore: The Ecolink Institute, ISSUP Award winner for “Excellence in Training Provision” started a psycho-education series for the general public, which is live streamed in the YouTube channel.

Background

Opioid overdose remains a public health crisis in diverse communities. Between 2019 and 2020, there was an almost 40% increase in drug fatalities primarily due to opioid analogues of both stimulants and opioids. Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD; e.g., buprenorphine) are effective, evidence-based treatments that can be delivered in office-based primary care settings. We investigated disparities in the proportion of national prescribers who have obtained a waiver issued to prescribe MOUD by demographic characteristics.
