Significant advances in prevention science are often due to a team of individuals working closely together across many years. In recognition of the importance of the collaborative process to the field, the Society for Prevention Research (SPR) will sponsor a friendly competition amongst teams of early career researchers for the honor of bringing home the Sloboda and Bukoski SPR Cup for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Cup is named for two of the founders and long time active members of SPR, Dr. Zili Sloboda and Dr. William Bukoski.

A 4 days virtual training on Universal Prevention Curriculum Course 2, “Physiology and Pharmacology for Prevention Specialists” from 02 to 05 November 2020 kicked off today by UNODC to add into pool of national master trainers on substance use prevention working in Pakistan, funded by INL and supported by Ministry of Narcotics Control Govt. of Paksitan and Prevention Treatment and Rehabilitation Section UNODC HQ.

This intervention focuses on building the capacity of professionals as trainers from health, education, law enforcement and civil society organizations on substance use prevention.

NIDA has worked with the International Child Art Foundation on their current issue of ChildArt which focuses on brain development and child health. It features the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study which will have many implications for adolescent prevention and treatment.
