Será que a legalização e comercialização do uso de cannabis aumentam a incidência e prevalência de psicose?

Há uma tendência mundial política de liberalização e comercialização da cannabis. Uruguai legalizou a cannabis recreativa em 2013, assim como o Canadá em 2018, assim como 10 estados dos EUA. This report examines hospitalisation trends related to cannabis use and mental and behavioural disorders in Canada between 2006 and 2015.

During this period, the rate of hospitalizations related to cannabis use and mental and behavioural disorders more than doubled and the rate of hospitalizations specific to cannabis-related psychotic disorder tripled.

This research supports monitoring the impacts of cannabis legalization and regulation.

Cerebrovascular disease due to cannabis use, UTC for healthcare professionals

There is a link between smoking cannabis and developing arteriopathies (Desbois, 2013) and cerebrovascular disease (Wolff, 2013). Recent reports document cases of young cannabis-smokers with cerebrovascular disease, in whom the proposed underlying mechanism would be intimal hyperplasia (Ntlholang, 2015).
