Stimulants are a class of drugs that act on the central nervous system, increasing alertness, energy, and attention while elevating mood. They achieve these effects by enhancing the activity of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain.

Many stimulant-related hazards are linked to intensive, high-dose, or long-term usage. The mode of administration plays a significant moderating role; injecting stimulants and smoking crack cocaine or methamphetamine have been specifically associated with more problematic use behaviours. The 2024 Global Event will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece between 24th & 28th June, 2024. The event is organised by ISSUP and ISSUP Greece, INL, the Centers for the Prevention of Addictions, the Promotion of Psychosocial Health SEIRIOS and ICUDDR. The event will take place in the historic center of Thessaloniki, on the premises of the ‘International Exhibition & Congress Centre of TIF-HELEXPO’ and surrounding conference rooms in museums and social institutions.

عقدت ISSUP جزر البهاما ورشة عمل ليوم واحد في 25 أغسطس 2023 في كلية تدريب الشرطة في فريبورت ، جراند باهاما.  هدفت ورشة العمل إلى تسهيل منصة تعاون لأصحاب المصلحة المتنوعين لاستكشاف الجوانب متعددة الأبعاد لتحديات تعاطي المخدرات ووضع استراتيجيات فعالة لمعالجتها.

بدأ الحدث بكلمة افتتاحية ألقاها السناتور هون كيركلاند راسل ، نائب مدير التجديد الحضري لشمال جزر البهاما.

استقطبت ورشة العمل جمهورا متنوعا من حوالي 50 مشاركا يمثلون مختلف الجهات الحكومية والشركات وغطت مجموعة واسعة من الموضوعات بما في ذلك عوامل الخطر والحماية وعلم الإدمان وتصنيف المواد والعمل مع الأسر.
