The ISSUP UK Consortium will be led by the following:
- Kate Halliday, Chief Executive Officer of Addiction Professionals
- Vivienne Evans OBE, Chief Executive of Adfam
- Dr Raffaella Margherita Milani, Senior Lecturer (Addiction – Mental Health) at the University of East London.
The Consortium will meet quarterly and will seek additional support from UK-based individuals and/or organisations working in the substance use field, where required.
ISSUP UK’s aims and objectives are as follows:
- Establish strong links with major UK-based organisations working in the substance use field
- Foster knowledge exchange across professional groups, experts by experience, different academic disciplines and different countries/cultures
- Provide a platform for discussion of current issues in the substance use field
- Offer opportunities to lead or participate in ISSUP UK webinars, workshops or other events
- Create international links with National Chapters both in Europe and globally
- Ensure the UK substance use workforce has access to important evidence-based learning, news, research and information from other countries
- Promote training opportunities available to the UK substance use workforce

ISSUP is for everyone who is doing something to address substance use in a variety of settings. This includes health and treatment professionals, prevention practitioners, market disruption and supply, law enforcement, policy makers, and community-led groups like youth and volunteers.
