This month ISSUP convened regional National Chapter meetings in both Bali, Indonesia, and Arusha, Tanzania. These dynamic gatherings aim to foster collaboration, spark innovative ideas, and reinforce efforts to advance drug demand reduction strategies across Asia and Africa.

In this issue we bring you details of the 3rd Informal Technical Consultation for the "Friends in Focus" peer-to-peer drug prevention programme, plus the 19th International Congress on Psychiatry that took place in Egypt last week.

Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine hosted the 19th International Congress on Psychiatry from 11 – 13 June 2024. ISSUP Africa Regional Coordinator Radolf Nortey attended the event along with colleagues from ISSUP Egypt.
