Training 100 next generation of leaders’ substance use prevention best practices and policies in their local communities.

Hello great friends and partners: Request of funding of 2000$ towards supporting training.

The objectives of the Training:

Objective 1: To train 100 next generation leaders with  resilience who have the ability to demand, advocate and execute substance use prevention in their local communities.

 

Objective 2: To strengthen collaboration and partnership with various stakeholders to ensure that we identify and develop the next generation of leaders with resilience who have the ability to demand, advocate and execute substance use prevention best practices and policies in their local communities.

Objective 3:  To empower local communities in designing curriculum in order to build the leadership capacity and advocacy skills and help local leaders to gain deeper understanding in

 

Objective 4: To share with stakeholders and local communities about ISSUP evidenced -based interventions in substance use prevention.

 

Objective 5: To build the capacity of communities and stakeholders in designing capacity building curricula and substance use prevention networks and support them in resource mobilization and program sustainability.

 

Objective 6: To train 100 next generation of leaders in digital skills  and broad-based research data collection programs in order to build their capacities  to improve practice and advance substance use prevention local initiatives.

 

The training will target the following :

 

  1. Teenage children with substance use disorders of 10-14 years of age
  2. Adolecent youth of 15-19 years of age
  3. Adults who use and inject drugs of 25-35 years of age
  4. Adolescent girls and young mothers (AGYM) with substance use disorders of 15-30 years of age .

The outcomes of the Initiative:

Outcome 1: Local communities empowered and connected to broader networks of ISSUP chapters for substance use prevention

 

Outcome 2: Next generation of leaders empowered and able to put in to practice through implementation of their own action-oriented projects.

 

Outcome 3: Community substance use prevention networks established and functional

 


Outcome 4:  The ISSUP substance use prevention programs integrated in all SAF—TESO internet programs to provide free access to information and use it to advance digital skills to
substance use prevention.

 

 

Outcome 5: Adolescent youth and teenage children with substance use disorders capacities developed to champion substance use disorder prevention programs

 


Outcome 6: Children, adolecent youth and teenagers live drug free.

 

Outcome 7: Communities and SAF-TESO empowered to document and send written quarterly and annual reports to the ISSUP Uganda Chapter and ISSUP global community

 

Outcome 8: Children and Adolecent youth capacities developed with vigor to attend all online webinars and in person conferences and trainings locally.
 

Outcome 9: Local communities, stakeholders and next generation of leaders empowered ton develop their own curricula for substance use prevention and implementation programs in their local context

This is very encouraging and I appreciate you for such a great programs that can help  towards the prevention of substance abuse in a holistic manner.

I may be late responding to this but it's better late than never. Also, I hope you will look towards the direction of targeting schools in dealing or having an early prevention programs for school going kids which I am currently into for now.
