Apply for In-Person Training at the Thessaloniki 2024 Global Event

The 2024 Global Event will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece between 24th & 28th June, 2024. The event is organised by ISSUP and ISSUP Greece, INL, the Centers for the Prevention of Addictions, the Promotion of Psychosocial Health SEIRIOS and ICUDDR.  The event will take place in the historic center of Thessaloniki, on the premises of the ‘International Exhibition & Congress Centre of TIF-HELEXPO’ and surrounding conference rooms in museums and social institutions.
We are excited to announce that registration for the in-person training sessions at the Thessaloniki 2024 Global Event is now live!

The 2024 ISSUP Global Event will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece between 24th & 28th June, 2024. Abstract submission is now open until December 31st, 2023, and we are inviting contributions from professionals across substance use prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support, as well as those working with vulnerable populations. Whether you're an academic or not, we welcome your submissions.

INTRODUCTION: The prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV) among women who use drugs (WWUD) is reportedly two to five times higher than among those who don’t use. This study aimed to analyse GBV experienced by WWUD in 6 EU countries.

METHODS: A survey was carried out with 261 WWUD, and additionally, 492 professional staff working with WWUD were surveyed. Fifteen focus groups with WWUD and staff and 120 interviews with staff and key informants were also conducted.

RESULTS: WWUD reported a high lifetime prevalence of GBV (97.69%) of all types and in many contexts. Migrant, ethnic minorities...

Recent research has revealed an increase in child hospitalisations resulting from accidental cannabis poisoning in various regions of Canada. Toddlers find cannabis edibles enticing due to their resemblance to common treats like candies, chocolates, or baked goods. Incidents of cannabis poisoning predominantly occur within households. It is imperative to emphasise the potential harm cannabis products can pose to children and the necessity of secure storage.
