Investing in Evidence-Based Prevention: Moving Beyond Good Intentions to Proven Strategies

Despite significant investments in prevention initiatives worldwide, an important question remains: Are our efforts creating meaningful and lasting impact?

Evidence-based prevention encourages professionals to move beyond activity-driven approaches by applying the best available scientific evidence to strengthen protective factors, reduce risk factors, and improve long-term health outcomes.

As part of the APSAAR Congress 2026, ISSUP will deliver a dedicated workshop, "Investing in Evidence-Based Prevention: Moving Beyond Good Intentions to Proven Strategies." The workshop will provide an opportunity for prevention professionals to explore the principles of evidence-based prevention and discuss practical strategies for translating research into effective prevention practice.
