ISSUP Kenya Contributes to Validation of Kenya's National Strategy for Prevention and Management of the Health Impacts of Alcohol Use 20026 - 2030

ISSUP -KENYA was honoured to participate in the Validation Workshop for the National Strategy for Prevention and Management of the Health Impacts of Alcohol Use (2026–2030), convened by the The Ministry of Health – Division of Mental Health on 30th and 31st July 2026 in Nairobi.

As a member of the Technical Working Group on Alcohol Prevention, ISSUP Kenya Executive Committee led by President Dr. Pamela Kaithuru, Deputy President Catherine Muthiani,  PR and Media Lead Ms.

UYDEL and Church of Uganda Partner to Promote Drug Prevention

The UYDEL team, host organisation for ISSUP Uganda, partnered with the Church of Uganda, with support from UNODC and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to conduct awareness sessions for young people at Kaliro High School in Iganga, St. Stephen’s Secondary School, and Nabukalu Secondary School in Bugiri.

More than 1,000 O-Level and A-Level students were reached at Kaliro High School, while 3,339 young people participated in the sessions at St. Stephen’s Secondary School and Nabukalu Secondary School.

ISSUP Nigeria Supports Substance Use Prevention Sensitization Programme for Postgraduate Students at the University of Ibadan

ISSUP Nigeria, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Department of Guidance and Counselling (University of Ibadan), organised a Substance Use Prevention Sensitization Programme for postgraduate students.

The programme aimed to strengthen participants' knowledge and understanding of evidence-based substance use prevention while equipping them with practical skills and preventive strategies to address substance use challenges within educational institutions and the wider community.
