Welcome to ISSUP Bangladesh
ISSUP Bangladesh is the national chapter of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP), hosted by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM).
DAM is a national non-governmental organization established in 1958. It is one of the largest and most respected NGOs in Bangladesh, with extensive work at both national and international levels, particularly in South-East Asia. DAM maintains strong linkages with national and international partners, including various United Nations agencies. It holds Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and maintains Operational Relations with UNESCO.
DAM began its work in substance use prevention in 1990 through the Drug Prevention and Control Program. In 2004, its focus expanded from prevention to include treatment and rehabilitation under the Addiction Management and Integrated Care approach. Today, Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a leading organization in this field, operating four drug treatment and rehabilitation centres for men and women, along with counselling services such as Monojotno Kandro.
