The Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Network promotes the adoption and implementation of evidence- based, recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate practices for people who have, or who are at risk of developing, substance use disorders across the globe. Funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Network includes 10 Regional Centers, 2 National Focus Area Centers, and a Network Office serving the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Palau, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and the Mariana Islands. Additionally, the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief supports international HIV ATTCs in Ukraine and Central Asia, South Africa, Southeast Asia, and Vietnam.

In this webinar, Natania Crane, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Director of the UIC Recovery Clinic, will provide current information on research and treatment related to cannabis use and mental health, including recent changes in cannabis use, how the endocannabinoid system may regulate mental health symptoms, and what we currently know about cannabis use and mental health.
This event will highlight principles for effective and integrative treatment of patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, using a strengths-based recovery approach. The intended audience is interdisciplinary mental health care practitioners.
LGBTQIA people are much more than their sexual orientation and gender identity. This interactive webinar combines the perspectives and practices of both Cultural Humility and Motivational Interviewing, inviting participants to consider how these approaches, used in tandem, can enhance engagement and retention of LGBTQIA people.
