Training on the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) – Core Course & INEP Plus

ISSUP Uganda Chapter, in partnership with Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL), is pleased to announce an in-person Training on the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) – Core Course & INEP Plus, taking place from 23rd–27th March 2026 at UYDEL Masooli Centre, 8 Miles, Gayaza Road, Uganda.

About the UPC Core Course: The Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) Core Course is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and practical skills required to deliver effective, evidence-based substance use prevention programmes. The training strengthens participants’ capacity to positively impact individuals, families, schools, workplaces, and communities through structured prevention interventions grounded in prevention science.

What Participants Will Learn

  • Gain a solid understanding of evidence-based prevention strategies and policies.

  • Explore prevention approaches across families, schools, workplaces, and communities.

  • Understand the role of media, monitoring, and evaluation in prevention efforts.

  • Build skills to design, implement, and evaluate prevention interventions.

  • Apply international standards for substance use prevention.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: A University Degree in any field.

  • Full attendance (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM EAT daily) is mandatory to receive certification.
