ISSUP Nigeria Publishes the 18th Edition of The Solace

ISSUP Nigeria is pleased to share the 18th Edition of The Solace, the official newsletter of the ISSUP Nigeria Chapter.

This special edition captures a significant moment in the Chapter's journey, documenting key developments that continue to strengthen Nigeria's substance use prevention, treatment , and recovery workforce. The publication highlights the Chapter's 7th National Scientific Conference, held under the theme "Impact of Technology on Addiction : Innovations in Prevention, Advocacy , Treatment and Research," as well as the Chapter's first institutional leadership transition.

The newsletter reflects on the growth of ISSUP Nigeria from an emerging professional initiative into a nationally recognised network connecting prevention, treatment, public health, academic, civil society, and law enforcement professionals across the country. It also introduces the newly elected Executive Council for the 2025–2028 term and outlines the Chapter's strategic priorities for the coming years.

Readers will find:

  • Highlights from the 7th National Scientific Conference;
  • Reflections on the Chapter's first leadership transition;
  • Messages from the outgoing and incoming leadership;
  • Introduction of the new Executive Council;
  • A conversation with pioneer President Dr. Martin O. Agwogie;
  • Youth O'Clock – a new direction for youth engagement and prevention;
  • Information on innovative initiatives, including VibeCheck; and
  • Updates on ISSUP Nigeria activities and professional development efforts.

As ISSUP Nigeria continues to advance evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery services, this edition of The Solace serves as both a reflection on achievements to date and a vision for the future.
