Currently, new technologies – devices and digital environments – occupy a central role in the daily lives of young people. In this context, access to information is massified, the construction of bonds expands and decision-making is influenced. Therefore, social networks can influence perceptions and beliefs about substance use, as well as favor misinformation, consequently, minimizing and normalizing the risks of their use, which is why we will deal in this webinar with the influence that they exert on young people and their perception of substances, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of critical thinking and provide some tools to address social networks in a safe and healthy way on the subject of substances.

Presenters:

Miriam Carrillo

She has a degree and a Master's degree in Pedagogy from UNAM, with specialties in Virtual Environments for Online Learning and Sociology of Higher Education, as well as diplomas in Neurosciences and Addictions and Educational Administration. She has 18 years of experience in the design and evaluation of substance use prevention programs, training and education of professionals for addiction care. In Youth Integration Centers she has held various management positions and currently serves as Director of Prevention, where she coordinates at the national level the design of methodologies, materials and psychoeducational resources, as well as communication strategies and prevention campaigns in the media and social networks. She is a speaker at national and international conferences, editorial coordinator of the CIJ Informa Magazine and author of various publications on addiction prevention. She is a member of ISSUP and a certified trainer of the CICAD/OAS Universal Prevention Curriculum. She also has more than 18 years of experience as a professor at UNAM in health education and the use of technologies in education.  
 
Nicolas Poliansky

He is a Doctor of Health Sciences, Psychologist and researcher, with extensive experience in the field of mental health and addictive disorders. He develops his activity in the academic fields, civil society and articulation with public and private institutions of health, education and justice. He is Director of ISSUP Argentina, Global Trainer of UNODC and OAS-CICAD in prevention and treatment of substance use disorders, and Global Trainer of the CHILD Program of the Colombo Plan. He currently serves as a Professor at the University of the Argentine Social Museum (UMSA).

Guido Prósperi Lewintre:

He is a Youth Representative for The Americas of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP), where he participates in initiatives aimed at strengthening youth participation, evidence-based prevention and the articulation between young people and professionals in the field of consumption. He is a graduate of the Psychology career at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), with his thesis in the final stage, and has specific training in the prevention of problematic consumption and experience in the fields of education, mental health and civil society organizations. He currently works as a preceptor at the secondary level and actively participates in ISSUP projects related to prevention and health promotion in educational and community contexts.

Eva Valencia

She has a degree in International Relations and has more than six years of experience in Youth Integration Centers (host of ISSUP Mexico), where she is a collaborator in the Department of International Relations. From her work at CIJ and as Youth Liaison of ISSUP Mexico, she has participated in initiatives for the prevention of substance use and in the promotion of the participation, leadership and voice of young people in national and international spaces. She has collaborated in the organization and development of training activities aimed at young people, as well as in international exchange and cooperation projects in the field of prevention.    

Paola Pacheco

Volunteer at Centros de Integración Juvenil A.C. (CIJ), student of the bachelor's degree in education and development  and participant of the 2026 youth forum of the United Nations against Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
